Types of Poetry
Cinquain - This is a five line poem that follows the following form:
Line 1: One word topic
Line 2: Two words that describe your topic
Line 3: 3 actions that relate to your topic
Line 4: 4 words that are feelings relating to your topic
Line 5: A synonym to your topic
Limerick - A humorous five line poem that follows a specific rhyme scheme
Haiku - A Japanese style of poetry that is three lines following the pattern 5 syllables, 7 syllables, 5 syllables; they are usually about nature
